Masaiti Town Council has embarked on a three day monitoring exercise of projects funded by the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) in Kafulafuta and Masaiti Constituencies.
Led by the District Commissioner Madam Eernie Matutu, Council Chairperson Andrew Lumano and Council Secretary Robert Mlauzi, the team visited several projects, including :
The Road Construction Project of Chabu Road which is a 3.5 km road connecting Mwatishi and Mapalo Wards in Kafulafuta Constituency, the road is set to be completed at a cost of K 800,000.
The project involves graveling and installation of culverts.
A road network of 57.5 kilometres has been earmarked for upgrade in both Masaiti and Kafulafuta Constituencies by the end of 2025.
Other Community and Health Projects visited include Kapyunga Women’s Club which benefited from the 2023 grant of K 13,000 for goat rearing, growing their initial 7 goats to 28 in 23 months. Each of the 15 members received a gallon of groundnut seeds to support their 2024/2025 farming season.
Other projects visited include Chimanshi Ablution Block, Chiwala Rural Health Post Staff house,
Kapalu Community School construction of a 1×3 classroom block.
Silangwa Secondary School Construction of a 1×3 classroom block. Chikoka Rural Health Post Staff house, ablution block, and water reticulation system construction.
The CDF monitoring exercise aims at ensuring project implementation aligns with development goals and community needs.
This initiative demonstrates the government’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and community-driven development.
The local leadership’s involvement, including Chief Chiwala’s support towards material needed for road construction highlights the importance of collaboration in achieving development objectives.
